I've eaten way too much over the last 2 years. Not too long ago (approx. 1 month) I began a high protein, lower carbohydrate diet. It's nothing suspiciously restrictive like Mr. Atkins. Instead, this diet I'm on encourages one to eat 6 times a day so the body does not go into starvation mode and begin storing calories. I love eating, so 6 meals a day is very appealing.
At least 2 of the meals are these high protein Myoplex shakes. My other meals are "raw" protein (low fat chicken, turkey, etc.) and veggies. In one month, I've lost about 23 lbs. Getting a reaction out of co-workers, who remember me just a couple of months ago when I was using my rotund frame to gain leverage against the evil vending machine that was trapping my Pop Tarts, is nice. Fitting into clothes I haven't been able to wear for years is a huge plus.
I'll let my true intentions for writing this entry be known: I need healthy recipes.
Anyone gots?
Good for you! You'll have to share the details with me when you come for a visit.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty good system to me. I was getting so lazy around Christmas time I really gained weight got to over 200 lbs, but started playing basketball again and now am at about 184. Close to my past weight for the last 8 or 9 years or so
ReplyDeleteReally? I never saw you topping out at 2 bucks, dude. Basketball is the best workout. Period. Wish I still had the skills to ball :(
ReplyDeleteYeah seriously I used to eat all kind of bad foods the past few years. I mean KFC, Pizza and Chinese in the same day but play basketball for like 2 hours or so and I guess the metabolism really helped out. LiKE i said, I was eating moderately right but with no exercise and just balloned up to 200 lbs. I played some ball last week and hit most of my mid range jumpers and threw a few behind the back passes just to get flashy. I missed my long range shots but that is expected, I had not played for so long.
